Cave speed paint by ricochet188 Cave speed paint by ricochet188
Just messing around, figured I should do some painting of some sort. I'm really trying to work on using more saturated color and focusing on light more then I usually do.

This took around 45 minutes or so

I love the colour scheme. Did you make it up on the spot or plan it somehow?

Oo, could we have steps for your pictures anytime soon eh?

I was inspired by an artist's work, I forgot his name, but he worked on the shrek movies. I didn't copy his color scheme, but I tried to implement the way in which he selected colors and also the graphic style of painting them.

It took a lot of fiddling. I knew I wanted to have very vibrant colors like oranges and yellows to draw attention and have greens and blues to act as shadowed areas. But the implementation of that logic was just a whole lot of fiddling.

Was it Nathan Fowkes perhaps? This sort of reminded me of his work.

I still don't. It takes a lot of practice I'm finding.
