I've drawn this girl way way too many times, but I can't get enough of her. She's just a figment of my imagination, she's the one I turn to when I let my mind wander, she is made for me and only me.

Now I'm going to contradict myself and tell you a bit about her:

Sybil, a bright perky yet contemplative young woman was hit by a car and paralyzed from the neck down at the age of 24. She had been in a coma for a week before she awoke to find that her body was left in ruin. Due to a multitude of other permanent internal injuries she was to be confined to a bed for what was most likely to be the rest of her life.

The first years were busy with family and friends at her side almost daily but inevitably as time moved on so did everyone else. Her sisters grew and had families of their own. Her friends eventually forgot she existed. And Sybil's once bright radiant personality turned to one of cynicism and depression.

30 years past and the disconnect with the world around her she discovered ages ago had grown into a monolithic wall. Trapped, unable to speak or unwilling, to anyone who witnessed her laying in her bed she was all but comatose.

Sybil was drawing back into her shell. She was struggling to find another kind of existence within her own mind, one where she could be free again. Simple daydreams were not enough, she needed something more. Days of intense concentration, no sleep, no need for it. She would lay there with her eyes closed searching the recesses of her mind for any shred of life left in her stubborn breathing corpse.

Then... in an instant, something clicked. The world stopped. Her eyes opened and she found herself falling through clouds. She fell through the skylight of a vast mansion standing a mid the ocean like an island. decorated top to bottom with ornate patterns and textiles. This place was beautiful combination of pristine hand crafted workmanship and graceful aging. This mansion was a home within the deepest pit of her imagination. A place only reached by a handful of people throughout history. Her new world was ever lasting and limited only by her imagination. She lives there to this day.

Also I should mention this is an edited version of this [link] I always loved this picture, but recently felt I could fix it up and make it one of my favorites again

THAT. Is awesome.
I pause a lot for dramatic effect.
Her backstory is totally amazing. I love the idea of it all.
I have a question I just have to ask. Is she named after Sybil, the pseudonym for Shirley Ardell Mason? I was just wondering, since that Sybil had D.I.D, which isn't what this Sybil has (If she has anything, because maybe she's just smarter than the rest of us.) but the name of the picture put the idea in my mind. :)

Nope, I had to google this Shirley lady... a weird story indeed.

The name was just the first name that came to me.

As for her 'condition' I guess you could say there's an element of fantasy to it. Or maybe not... It's as a result of being so cut off from everything and unable to move and express herself, her mind just went off to another place.
